In Texas Hold’em, you use 2 of your hole cards and 5 cards on the table to make the best 5 card combination.
Examples (h=hearts):
1) You have 2h3h Opponent has 4h 5h
The board is 6h 8h Jh Kh Ah
Best combination is the board, so it’s a tie.

2) You have Ah 2h Opponent has 4h 5h
The board is 3h 6h 8h Jh Kh
You have the best 5 card combination (Ah Kh Jh 8h 6h)

3) You have Ah 2h Opponent has Kh Qh
The board is Jh 9h 7h 5h 4h
You have the best 5 card combination (Ah Jh 9h 7h 5h, opponent has Kh Qh Jh 9h 7h)

That makes no sense.

The blinds are posted before anyone bets, so no one “opens” before the blinds… and you can bet with whatever cards you happen to have, there is no requirement.
