Poker can be learned easily but very hard to master, it is a game that involves a lot of thinking and analysis. If you really want to win and be successful in playing poker especially in Texas holdem, then you need to consider some important Texas holdem winning secrets about how to improve game on holdem.

Texas holdem is absolutely the most famous among the various poker variations these days. By having the ability to recognize exactly the best hand in Texas holdem to play in a particular condition, you are certainly increasing your chances of consistently winning this card game. You just have to take time to study and practice the various strategies that will tremendously increase your odds of success in this game.

Your position on the table makes a huge difference in the way you play your game. On the early stage of the game most of the chances are still hidden, players in late position have better odds to influence the size of the pot much more than those in early position, this is due to the fact that in the later stages players may perform more evident calculations with better confidence.

Making the right decision in Texas holdem and avoiding the common mistakes those other players make, such as, refraining from playing too many starting hands; this is by far the biggest mistake that novice and intermediate holdem players make. You should take into account that the more hands you’ll play will mean that you’ll be putting more money on the table. Keeping this fact in mind will make a great impact in maximizing your chances of winning in this most popular poker variation.

Give importance to the fact that your opponents most especially the seasoned ones will surely know the way how to read other players at the table. You will be able to slow play a particular hand if you possess the skill to read other players, giving you the advantage of trapping other opponents who tend to be over aggressive.

Winning Hands in Texas Holdem-Which Hands Should You Play to Win?

The poker tournament we usually see on TV is the no limit variation of Texas Holdem. It is aptly termed as no limit because a player can bet all his chips during the game play. This form of Texas Holdem is perfect for those who have mastered the game and loves taking high risks, but for those who are still learning the basics of Texas Holdem, it is wise to start with the Low Limit Texas Holdem for practice. Low Limit Texas Holdem is a form of poker which sets a bet limit for each round of the game with the limit ranging anywhere from – .

If you want to win in Texas Holdem, you have to take note of three things – position in relation to the dealer, patience, and power. Choosing a starting hand to play with is the most important decision a poker player must make. It is very bad practice to play too many hands so better avoid doing this. The best strategy is to be patient and wait for the powerful winning hands in Texas Holdem before making your call. Since the player’s position also matters, various types of winning hands in Texas Holdem must also be played relatively.

One common mistake that novice poker player makes is holding onto the wrong set of cards instead of folding them. Thus, if you are still learning the ropes in Texas Holdem, it will be well worth it to memorize which are the winning hands in Texas Holdem.

Luck is definitely on your side if you are initially dealt with a pair of Aces, likewise known as pocket rockets, since this is the best possible starting hand. A pair of Kings and a pair of Queens are also great opening hands of Texas Holdem. An Ace and a King of similar suit is also acceptable since you can form the nut flush with ease with these cards. Likewise, an Ace and Queen with the same suit also increases the chances of you being the winner.

Other potential winning hands in Texas Holdem include a Pair of Jacks, a King and Queen of similar suit or otherwise, an Ace and a Jack, a King and a Jack, and an Ace and a Ten. You must remember though that the mentioned best opening hands will have greater chances of winning against these cards, but when played intelligently, these cards can out win the greater hands.

These are just some of the winning hands in Texas Holdem which you can play on. But possessing these hands is not a guarantee of you winning. The game of poker still relies largely on how you manage your cards and analyze your opponent’s skill. However, having the mentioned winning hands in Texas Holdem improves your chances of besting other players in the game, just make sure you do not become so obvious in ‘telling’ so that you will not fall trap to manipulative measures from your opponents and end up losing your precious bankroll.

No Limit Texas Holdem Tournament Strategy – Winning Vs Aggressive Players in Order to Make a Profit

Winning against a skilled aggressive player can be very tough. They’ll back you into corners and force you to make tough decisions – Or get slowly eaten away by their blind stealing. Here we’ll discuss when to re-raise, when to play tight and how to vary your game based on where you are in the tournament.

When to Re-Raise

First off, don’t both defending your blinds in the early game. If a hyper aggressive player wants to steal 30 chip blinds early, let him do it.

When the blinds get worth defending, then it’s time to make a choice. If you’re in the blinds, re-raising him may be a great idea. In fact, you may even want to re-raise more often than not.

Be careful that even if you’re loose with your raises, you play tight post-flop. If he calls your raise, chances are he has something. If you’re holding blanks, don’t go bluffing post flop.

Don’t Get Pushed Around

It’s fine to let go of blinds early, but in mid and late game it’ll really hurt if you don’t start pushing back.

Most players will wait only for good hands to raise or re-raise. Every once in a while, it’s fine to re-raise with nothing. Playing too tight late game against an aggressive player is a recipe for disaster.

Tight Aggressive vs. Tight Aggressive in the Late Game

Late in the tournament, it’s generally tight aggressive players who’ve survived thus far. At this point, you’re likely against several tight aggressive players.

If they’re playing very tight, you can loosen up and try to steal the blinds. Otherwise, at this point you’re playing on reads.

Play a little looser and a little more aggressive pre-flop. Always play tight post-flop. Don’t try to bluff a hand just because you raised pre-flop and got called, especially if you’re short stacked.

Being loose is a great way to combat them being tight. Steal their money from hands they’re not willing to play. On the other hand, getting aggressive and fighting back is the only way to combat them being aggressive.

Are you tired of reloading your poker account night after night? Are you tired of always finishing out of the money? Are you tired looking at your deposit/cashout history and just seeing all deposits? Well, it’s time to change all that and learn how to become a winning online poker player by understanding the fundamentals to winning at Texas Hold ‘Em.

Most of poker players consider pocket pairs to be a Texas holdem winning hand. Texas holdem pocket pairs can be a very interesting hand to have in a way that they tend to have a stronger preflop value compared to the most of the other hands, but can get progressively weaker as the hand continues. This is probably the reason why most poker players are having difficulties in figuring out a way to deal with pocket pairs before the flop. It requires a solid plan for a player’s pocket pairs in playing winning Texas holdem strategy.

It is not a good practice to play too many hands and hope that the flop will be the miracle that you are waiting for. The best starting hands that you may want to put your stakes into are pocket aces, suited connectors, or two face cards.

Pocket aces are one of the best starting Texas holdem hands, but the drawback is that the odds of getting this hand are quite little. This hand will enable you to win the game if you know how to play and bet appropriately, of course depending on your position compared to your opponents. The best thing to do with a pocket ace hand is to play it moderately, make an appropriate bet, not too much but not too little that you may get nothing at all.

Suited connectors are hands with cards that are consecutive in rank and have the same suite. These hands give you a great chance at straights, flushes and straight flushes which are very good pot winners. In general, when you have these hands, raising is not a good idea since your opponents may start to fold and you will lose out on their bets.

Two face cards cannot be considered to be the greatest hands but generally it’s a good hand. These hands are good for a match with many players since there will be a huge chances that you have the best hand in the group. Look for a straight or flush for you to be able to win the pot.

Winning Sit and Go tournaments is both an art and a skill. It’s crucial that you understand both your bankroll and winning SnG strategies in order to profit. Keep reading to learn more bankroll and SnG strategy.

Bankroll

Just like any other area of poker, luck plays a big part. You could play perfectly and get to the bubble, only to get knocked out by a sucker river. It happens.

That’s why it’s important that you have enough cash to play enough so that your stats even out and show your skill over the long run.

In general, you want to have 20x your buy-in. So if you’re playing 10+1 SnGs, you want to have 0 available to play with. This will give you enough padding to get enough statistical data that you know you’re winning over time.

Sit and Go Strategy

Just like most other areas of poker, the best strategy is a tight & aggressive strategy. However, your game has to shift very quickly because of how fast SnGs move.

In the beginning, you should play very tight. As in only play AA, AK, KK, QQ and AQ from late position. This is because generally 1-3 players will go all in and knock themselves out within the first few rounds. Don’t get caught up in that.

You can also try and limp pre-flop with subpar hands and try to hit jackpot while the blinds are still low. This works for the starting blinds and the first blind raise, but after that start playing tight. Note that this is an advanced strategy.

Once you get to middle game, loosen up and start playing hands like TT. Still only play hands that are good and don’t be afraid to steal blinds. Be aggressive without being too loose.

If your chip stack starts getting low, loosen up even more. If your chip stack is big, tighten up a bit more.

As the blinds raise, steal as many blinds as you can. Steal from both the dealer button and dealer + 1.

Keep playing aggressive all to the end. Even in the bubble and especially when you’re in the money. Go for the top payout. This is the basic strategy of winning Sit and Go poker.

Start out very tight, loosen up and get aggressive. Play according to your chipstack and aim for first place.
