I’ve played unlimited before but tonight I’m playing limited and want to do well. What mistakes might I make and any tips?

I know in limit there’s a tendency to play lots of hand, but don’t do it…only play premium hands. Don’t play a lot of hands out of position. Know what the pot odds are when going for your draws. and know your opponenets tendencies.
Play tighter and chase less. You should play fewer starting hands than no-limit. Slow play less often or never. Basically, play a little straighter than you might for no-limit.
Also, re-raises come into play a lot more–if you have a strong hand, you want more money in the pot–don’t be scared into calling the bet in front of you–if you are strong, raise it some more! In limit, it is usually as important to play your cards as it is to play the opponents–in no limit, it is all about the opponents.
Since you can’t make someone ‘pay you off’ at the end, chasing a hand you have a forty percent chance of winning just doesn’t pay. Each bet has the same value (except that the river and turn are doubled). In no limit, you can cover small bets pre-flop and on the flop to hope you hit your card, because you can raise the bet on the turn or river and get paid after you hit often enough that it is worth it. The only time you should chase is when you bet (semi-bluff), and everyone called. In that case, bet each round (if you check, you’ll get raised automatically). If you get raised once, call and see a card. If there are two raises after you, get out.
In “Limit” games, I tend to bluff more. I mean, there’s only so much you’re going to lose in a limit hand, and you can often scare the others off by raising and/or re-raising if you have a decent hand. I also tend to call more often than I would in a no-limit game, it’s like paying to see whether or not they’re bluffing.
Just one tip– If, in your first half-hour at the table, you can’t spot the sucker, you ARE the sucker…
Seriously, Texas Hold’em is the Cadillac of poker. Bet wisely, always consider that your opponents have the next card higher than yours and bet accordingly.
The single piece of advice i would give is to bet earlier if you have a great pocket hand, you won’t have the opportunity to go all in later waiting for your hand to show up on the flop, the nice thing about limit is that if you play tight/conservative, you can walk away a winner almost everytime.
Limit is a totally different game then no limit, Basically your ability to bluff or to push a draw off his hand is not available at all. I myself do not play limit, i myself stick to no limit. Zct who is very good hold em player might be able to answer your question in a lot more detail then me. But if you are talking no limit cash game or tournament i am your man, but like i said limit is not my game.
Weak players tend to play too loose at limit poker.
They think “its so cheap to go see a flop, the worst i can get is a minimum raise¸ so lets see if i can catch something”. This is an amateur way of thinking.
You must play tight to get results . Playing premium hands is a must. The reason is that the pre-flop bet is so big in consideraring with the pot you are trying to get. Spending all those big blinds with marginal hands in “hope” to catch a hand is wasting all the profit you can do in Limit.
Limit poker is a very technical game. In my opinion its more complicated than no limit for that reason. Dont expect to get super profit at it if you are not very good. Dont expect to get profit at all if you play too loose and draw too much.
In limit games I tend to play a lot looser. I play more hands and chase straights and flushes a lot more. When there are limits you can play a little harder. It is however harder to bluff as people will call you out knowing that they cant lose too much on each hand.
