World Poker Tour 100 Count 11.5-Gram Clay Composite Chips in Acrylic Chip Tray
I recently discovered and switched from the ESPN Club chip set to these WPT chips. I was drawn to them for couple of reasons. Primarily, I liked the attractive “World Poker Tour” logo and the rim design on the chip. Secondly, I liked the quality of lamination on the chips that made them less slippery (making them easier to shuffle), more pleasing to handle, and more durable overall. Although they are nowhere near the quality and feel of full clay casino grade chips (like those made by Paulson), they do look and feel better than most composite chips I’ve handled in the past. I definitely like them better than the ESPN Club chips, which feel like plastic and are slippery to handle/shuffle. That said, I have mixed feelings about the quality control exhibited in the manufacture of these chips. Of the 100 chips I received, about half of them have logos that do not align parallel to the horizontal rim lines. Does it matter? Not really, except to an obsessive-compulsive person like me. Furthermore, about 5% of the chips exhibit more visible defects such as off-centered logos and ink smears. Overall, I am satisfied with the quality and feel of these WPT chips, but they are not without their faults.
